Salisbury University's Cultural Affairs Department introduces a night of Middle Eastern arts and entertainment 6-9pm, Monday, April 28 in the Guerrieri Center. A free cabaret-style bellydance workshop is at 6pm with Valerie/Nefertitti, Artistis Director of Damali Dance Company. The show is an encore performance of Shaharazad, a tale of 1001 nights. The classic story which includes famed characters such as Alladin, Sinbad, Ali Babba, and the genie. The dance performance features members of Damali Dance company including featured solos by Nefertiti and Viviana, a turkish performer famed for appearances at Marakesh restaurant in Washington, DC. The show will also feature tribal dance, a mesmerizing and modern bohemian approach to bellydance. Roma, American Tribal Style instructor, performer, henna artist and creator Nomadic Magic Tribal Dance is featured performing sword and dagger duets. Leah, tribal fusion soloist from Rehoboth Beach interprets Alladin as the Jinn/Genie and performs daggers with Roma.

Susan Beverly MLA has been teaching mediation since 1971 and The Artist’s Way for over a dozen years. She has her Master’s degree in Creativity Consulting and has been a Reiki Master teacher since 2001. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She trained in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi with Kahuna Harry Uhune Jim on the Big Island in 2003.

Ms. Beverly is also a successful singer/songwriter, writer, poet, and visual artist.

Sweetspot includes a large lending library of books, CDs, and DVDs; a baby grand piano, guitars, art supplies, and gallery. There are two guest bedrooms, a cozy woodstove, and every amenity. It’s close to the library, cafes, shops, lakes, parks, the bays and ocean, with woodsy trails for exploration, bike paths, and nearby indoor pool.

Visit for an hour or two, half day, day, a few days, weekend, a week, or more. Find relaxation, solace, and reawaken your own creative and healing abilities.
